Personality: He's the Dead Sea. He's unfriendly to almost everyone he ever meets, though there's a pretty big reason for it that isn't simply "he's a dick". He's just scared of letting people get and stay close to him, when he has a power that requires him to always pay attention to its on/off switch.
Not to mention, he's... always hyper aware of just what kind of pain people are feeling. While he's from a place where everyone is basically forced to remain some form of compliant/happy, that doesn't mean the deepest layers aren't still what they are...

Abilities: Pain Manipulation, Semi-Immortality
Passively: He can sense mental, emotional, and physical agony/pain/suffering. Additionally, he emits an aura, of sorts, that basically shoots out a constant wave of raw pain and agony, on both a mental and physical level. Due to his ability to sense pain, this definitely has a horrible backlash, for him. And the more suffering he's going through, the more pain is sent out from him, so it basically turns into a never-ending spiral.
Willingly: He can shut down the passive effects sans the sensing. Furthermore, he can manipulate mental, emotional, and physical agony. Basically, he can control pain and suffering, whether increasing, decreasing, causing, or otherwise changing pain. So, even if there is no preexisting pain, he can manifest the emotional and physical energy that equates to pain and then mold/warp it however he feels.
